Are You Being Thoughtful Today?

Today is National Thoughtful Day. Somehow it zeroed right in on ME! I decided before 6am this morning that I had to have this day for thinking. Yesterday's events were a bit breathtaking, scary, and sad. Here's what happened yesterday:

  1. I'm taking care of my website all by myself these days; not a small task for a new career-oriented person of undetermined age. I have had some amazing helpers along the way and my platform company is unbelievable helpful (and patient) when they call me back or put me on hold, challenging MY patience. So from 2:43pm to 4:31pm yesterday, WE worked together to locate missing information and make the website user friendly.

2. Then there's this Inky-Dink that adopted us. The vet and I think she may have suffered some heat-related problems on Sunday when she (as an outside cat) left before noon and did not reappear until 8pm. There was a heat warning that day and I didn't catch it soon enough.

We had been considering making her an INSIDE cat, so, all of a sudden, she IS. These last 2 days she just laid around, barely eating, not even scratch-playing with my fingers like she did last week. And staying for hours in my chair or on the couch. That worried me immensely through last night.

3. Lastly, my daughter and her 5 kiddos lost one of their pet rabbits just before school yesterday. It made them all late and I thought about them grieving all day. Fortunately, they have other animals to hug, but it's still a big loss and a hard life lesson.

Anyway, today things are looking up again. My Inky is back to her "scratch-playing" with my shirt, my fingers, my skin, and my red marker. My website platform seems to have uncovered a few more of the "missing" items. And my daughter sent pictures of the bunny's farewell. Whew!

If you have "one of these days, you can still be an optimist. Courtesy of Candide: "Optimism is a mania for maintaining that all is well when things are going badly."

Have a Workable Wednesday!

Pat
